Are You Ready For Some Walk Around Fairies?

With the release of the brand new Tinker Bell films coming out this fall, Disney's Character Programs & Development department have come up with walk around versions of the five Disney fairies. No word on when the fairies will start to appear in the parks but it probably will be real soon. It has not been confirmed but the best place to see Tink and her fairy friends will be at the Judge's Tent at Mickey's Toontown Fair over at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.

Pirates 4

If you are a fan of Pirates of the Caribbean and want another Pirates movie you may have to wait a little longer. It seems that there are some plans to make another movie but they have hit a snag. Director Gore Verbinski is signed on to do some other movies for the time being and Johnny Depp made it well known he would not be involved with another Pirates movie unless Gore directed it. But there is still hope out there, we will just have to be a little patient.

Toy Story Now Has A Fast Pass

Great news to everyone this summer. Toy Story now has a Fastpass so you won't have to wait in extremely long lines for this hot new attractions at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Also just a quick piece of advice. If you want to avoid the crowds make sure you get there before the gates open and make a mad dash for the ride when the park opens. That way you won't have to worry about long lines.

New Attraction Coming To Epcot

You may or may not remember Hurricane Charley back in 2004 that caused $7 billion in property damage to the state of Florida. Well you will soon be able to experience what it was like. Epcot is going to recreate the experience for a new theme park attraction.

The ride will be called "StormStruck: The Tale of Two Homes" It will be an interactive experience rather than a ride. The attraction is set to open in late August at Disney's Epcot Innoventions pavilion. The attraction will put guests in the eye of Charley's Category 4 winds and will use 3-D technology and surround sound. The attraction will require guest to wear 3-D glasses.

Menu Changes At Restaurantosaurus

Listen up parents if you are counting on getting your little one some McDonald's chicken McNuggets when you go to Restaurantosaurus you are in for a surprise. They are no longer selling the McDonald Chicken McNuggets. A spokeswomen said, "But Disney will offer its own chicken nuggets and fries atRestaurantosaurus, along with a new dessert menu and a new menu for children's meals" She also adds, "The McDonald's fries will still be offered elsewhere in the park, notably at the PetriFries snack counter nearby."

Toy Story Soft Opening

Great news for anyone heading down to Disney World this week. Toy Story Mania ride is currently in a soft opening. Which means guests will have the opportunity to ride the ride before it officially opens on May 31, 2008. Please keep in mind that during a soft opening the ride can be shut down for no reason at all. But if all things go well it should remain open until it's grand opening on May 31, 2008.

The Simpson Ride Is In Soft Opening

The official grand opening for the new Simpson's ride is May 15, 2008. But he ride is currently under a soft opening.

The new ride is described as a combination of a thrill ride and "live show". Guests will ride with Bart, Homer, Marge, Liss and Maggie Simpson as they rocket through a fanciful amusement park dreamt up by "Krusty the Clown" The voices of the original actors are features in the ride as well.

The new Simpson's ride is located where Back To The Future used to be.

Tinker Bell Attraction

Don't get too excited everyone its seems that Disneyland will be getting this Tinker Bell attraction, which is scheduled to open in October. I am willing to bet though that if the ride does well there, Disney will probably add one to Disney World. The president of the Disneyland resort would not comment on anything about the ride except, " We know how special she is to all our guest."

Expedition Everest

I just wanted to inform everyone on some effects on Expedition Everest that may or may not be working. It seem they are having some difficulties with some of the visual effects on this ride. Sometimes they occur and sometimes they don't. The effects I'm speaking of is there is no steam effect at the loading dock, the bird at the track end scene seems to be missing and the second water near the end of the mountain appears to have stopped working.

Some are saying the reason for this is they are now running 5 trains so you shouldn't be surprised if you see lights and other things on that shouldn't be and some effects not working due to the laggy ride system.

Radio Disney Going Mobile

It seems that nearly 40% of the tween market has a cell phone so the Disney empire has decided to get Radio Disney mobile. Listeners will be able to get updated information about Radio Disney. Children can listen to Radio Disney, see the last ten songs played, find local Radio Disney stations, send shout-outs, request a song, view Radio Disney's Top 30 and take polls. All of this from the comfort of their cell phone.

New Ride Coming To Disney Hollywood Studios?

Alright hot of the press. I'm hearing some rumors about a possible new ride being added to Disney's Hollywood Studios. Apparently, this new ride will be based on Monsters Inc. It will be a dark ride that will be based on the door scene from the movie. It also seems that the powers that be at Disney might be considering a new area at Disney Hollywood Studios dedicated to this ride. Of course everything is still in the concept stage and nothing has been finalized or given the green light yet. I for one find it interesting if this is really true because they have been working so hard on Toy Story Mania, I wouldn't think they would add two new rides so close to one another. I guess we will just have to wait and see. I'll keep you posted.

Don't worry the admission price has not been increased, at least not for now. But the price you will pay to rent a stroller from Disney has gone up. So the best bet is to lug your own stroller with you if you are planning on taking a young one with you. Yes it will be a little inconvenient but it will save you some money.

Wall-E
story about what happens if everyone left Earth and one robot was left behind. This film is set to be released on July 18 in the United Kingdom.

Bolt
Tale of a dog who stars in a TV show and ends up on a cross-country journey when he realizes his on screen superpowers are not real. It is set to come out on February 13, 2009.

Tinker Bell

Jungala Is Now Open At Busch Gardens

The long a waited Jungala is now open at Busch Gardens. I haven't been there yet myself but it looks like a lot of fun! The two rides that they have there look like they would be a blast. First is Jungle Flyers, where you soar through the air on a muilt-level zip line with three different flight patterns. The second ride is The Wild Surge, where you get shot straight out of the top of a waterfall and get dropped down 4 stories. This thrilling ride also gives you a great view of the jungle below.

There are plenty of animals to see there as well including the always entertaining Orangutans at Orangutan Outpost. There is also the Tiger Trail where you can see these beautiful cats. You can also explore a mysterious cave, and walk through a bamboo path that leads you to a underwater viewing of tigers swimming in their pools. Lastly, you have Kulu Canopy. This canopy has several different species there including the white-cheeked gibbons, flying foxes, and the tomistomas-which is a rare crocodile from Indonesia and Malaysia.

Jungala even offers an attraction called Tree-Top Trails which features climbing nets, bridges, crawl tubes and multi-level mazes. If you are looking for somewhere to cool off in the hot Florida sun you should try going to the children play area. It is equipped with surprising bursts of water coming from the ground.

Note: the cost to get into Busch Gardens is $64.95 for an adult and $54.95 for a child. If you want to purchase a discounted ticket you need to buy your tickets online. An adult ticket online is $54.95 and a child ticket is $54.95 as well, please note that you have t purchase these tickets 7 days before you plan to visit.

The worst thing about going to Disney World is to find out after you get there that one of you favorite rides is closed for refurbishment. Well I wanted to warn everyone in advance that a very popular Disney ride is going to be closed for refurbishment from June 5 - June 18. The ride I'm referring to is Pirates of the Caribbean.

Disney Will Not Add Fuel Surcharge As Of Now

If you have booked a cruise with Disney there is no need to worry about getting charged an extra fuel fee for now. Disney has admitted they are looking into adding a surcharge in the future but announced they would not adopt one until at least April. So if you have already booked a cruise for later in this year don't worry about being charged the extra fuel fee. But if you haven't booked your cruise and are planning on doing it I would do it fast! Disney said it will tack on $70 to $140 extra per person depending on what kind of room you have booked.

Toy Story Mania Update

I have learned a few new things about the most anticipated Toy Story Mania. Disney is now saying that it is projected to open in late May of 2008.

Once you put your 3-D glasses on and "Shrink" it toy size you will be on your way. You will be armed with your very own toy cannon, and you can take aim at several different targets at the many different game booths you will encounter on the ride. Of course Woody, Buzz, Bo Peep, Hamm and the Green Army Men will be there to cheer you on. If you are able to find hidden targets you will be rewarded with extra points.

What is even better about this ride is Mr. Potato Head will be entertaining you and talking to you as you wait in line for the ride. Don't forget that each and every time you ride Toy Story Mania you will encounter different experiences each time.

Universal Studios Getting A New Ride

Universal Studios is getting a new thrill ride. The ride is called "The Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit" Coaster. This new coaster is scheduled to open in 2009. This coater is a little different than the coasters you are used to. Guests will view LED displays of song choices. Once aboard the ride you choose your song or one will be chosen for you. Your ride is video taped and after the ride you can format your own take-home music video. The coaster will feature high speed loops, turns and of course digital technology allowing the guests to create their own unique experience. The coaster is set to be 17 stories high and reach 65 miles per hour. You will have a chance to experience a record breaking loop and six near misses on this new high speed thrill ride.

The Animal Kingdom family has grown by two. A female baby giraffe named Makene and a male baby Zebra named Kidani. Journey Into Narnia:Prince Caspian Opening This Summer

Calling all Narnia fans!!! Journey into Narnia:Prince Caspian is a new attraction that is tentatively set to open May 24, 2008 at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Guests will be able to see exclusive behind the scene footage, original concept art, storyboards, props and costumes, from the latest Narnia movie. They also have a chance to explore Aslan's stone table chamber that was recreated from the original model and see blueprints from motion picture and you can even meet Prince Caspian.

Aquatica is the newest water park to Orlando. It has yet to open but from what I've seen of it, it looks amazing. Aquatica is part of Sea World and from the looks of things this one of a kind water park will not disappoint you. Admission for this whimsical park is $38.95 for an adult and $32.95 for a child. Extra Magic Hours Change In Policy

I'm pretty excited about Toy Story Mania and Disney has released a few new tidbits about the new ride that is slated to open this summer. Guests will grab 3-D glasses before boarding their ride vehicle and you will be zipped off into an old fashion like carnival setting were all you favorite Toy Story characters will be operating fun carnival games. Your vehicle will stop in front of several game booths were you can participate in a virtual reality version of some old classic carnival games. American Idol Coming To Disney World

Disney Hollywood Studios is planning on opening an American Idol attraction. The attraction is slated to debut sometime in 2008. Try outs will be held daily to park guests who register. At the end of the day a finale performance will be held and the winner will be chosen. The winner of the day will receive a spot at the front of the line at a regional Idol competition. Keep in mind there is no guarantee that you will be chosen to audition in front of the judges but you will be able to bybass the long wait in line.

Kilimanjaro Safari Closed After Fire

Yesterday February 11, 2008 one of the engines on the safari trucks caught fire. There were no serious injuries but they have closed the attraction for the time being. The ride was scheduled to reopen today February 12, 2008 but if it isn't you know why.

If you stay on any one of the Disney Property's then you have a hidden advantage that others don't. Besides being able to have access to the park before it opens or after it closes. There is another useful tool that you should take advantage of. At all Disney's properties there is a specific channel on the TV that tells you what is going on that week at the parks, times of different events and little secrets that you may or may not know. So be sure to tune into your TV and find that channel, for the life of my I can't remember what channel it is. There should be some sort of little flayer lying around the room to inform you.

There are several good places at Disney World that make for a great backdrop for a picture but you've have got to get a family picture with The Tree of Life in the background. Try getting to Animal Kingdom early in the morning and make a bee line to The Tree of Life and snap your picture. The park shouldn't be too busy bright and early so you won't have to worry about unknown people popping up in your family picture. Also after you get done with your picture head over to the Kilimanjaro Safaris. This ride is extremely popular and lines accumulate fast so you want to make sure you ride this ride bright and early in the morning. Also make sure you camera is ready at all times. The animals are more active in the morning and some of them like to get really close to the trucks.

There's A New Height Requirment For Splash Mountain

When Splash Mountain reopens on February 16, 2008 their will be a new height requirement of 60 inches (5 feet) if you want to sit in the front row. Disney has decided this because children under 60 inches can slip under the front of the log and obviously get injured. The 40 inch requirement remains for the rest of the rows. So make sure your little ones are aware of this new requirement and seat them in any other row but the front if they are under 60 inches.

Here's the rumor I'm hearing this week. Please keep in mind this is just a rumor and there could be no truth to it and there could be 100% truth to it. Well word around town is Disney is thinking or in the stages of creating a Sea World like park for Disney. I honestly don't know why they would go with this. I don't see how you could have two Sea World like parks in the same town, but I could be wrong. I do however know for a fact that Disney has a lot of extra acreage on their property so the reality of another park could very well happen some time in the future.

Johnny Depp was kind enough to visit London's Great Ormond St. Hospital last week dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow. He spent four hours in character telling bedtime stories to the patients. Depp also dontated 1 million pounds to the hospital as a huge thank you to the staff who saved the life of his daughter Lily Rose, when she was treated there last year. Talk about one heck of a meet and greet.

I just wanted to bring to everyone's attention to think twice maybe three times before you decide to buy tickets to Disney World, Sea World, or Universal Studios through any other place besides Disney's, Sea World's, or Universals websites. A couple was just scammed out of $480 from someone on Craigslist. We all know that the tickets to these theme parks are what cost the most out of your trip, and it is tempting to buy discounted tickets when we stumble upon them. Well I'm going to start to do some research on different places and see if I can find one that is legit and I will let everyone know.

Get Ready For A Disaster!

I mentioned at the beginning of December that Universal Studios was overhauling the Earthquake ride into a new themed ride. Well great news, Disaster A Major Motion Picture Ride...Staring You, is slated for a January 17, 2008 grand opening. The ride is in a soft opening right now so if you are at the park swing by there and see if it is open and see if you can get a sneak peak at the ride before is officially opens.

I do not know how truthful this rumor is, but here is goes. I heard through the grapevine that Disney Hollywood Studios might be thinking about adding A Monsters Inc roller coaster to the park. I personally think it would be wonderful. It's always nice to have new rides and attractions. If this rumor is true I doubt construction will begin on the coaster anytime soon. After all Toy Story Mania hasn't even opened yet.

Nicolas Cage Wants Disney To Build National Treasure Ride

Nicolas Cage has made it known that he would love Disney to build a themed ride on his two movies, National Treasure. Nicolas said, "My biggest thrill would be if Disney was so happy with the movie that they gave it a ride. Because I love amusement parks and I love Disneyland and I would love to see a National Treasure ride. That would be a dream come true for me." Well Nicolas may very well get his wish National Treasure Book of Secrets has made $143.8 million dollars so far with more raking in everyday. I personal think it would be great if Disney did build a ride based on these movies. If Disneyland was to get the ride first Disney World would probably receive it two years later. If you frequent my blog you will probably already know this information but if you don't here it is. 2008 is going to be an exciting year for all the Orlando theme parks. Everyone of them are debuting a new attraction.

Seaworld is debuting the highly anticipated Aquatica water park.

Busch Gardens is opening Jungala Land which will have zip lines, new rides, entertainment and a multilevel playground.

Disney Hollywood Studios (former Disney MGM) is opening Toy Story Mania and debuting the Block Party Bash Parade.

Universal Studios is opening The Simpson's simulated ride which took the place of Back To The future.

Busch Gardens Extending Their Here's To Heroes Program

This is a great program to take advantage off if you are an active reserve, active duty, ready reserve or National Guardsman. Basically you get free admission to Sea World or Busch Gardens for the day as well as three family members. Unfortunately, this program excluded Discovery Cove. The Here's To Heroes program has been extending to the end of 2008. Since February of 2005 the parks have given 4 million members of the armed forces and their families free admission to Busch Gardens and Sea World.

In case you are planning a trip to Disney World some time soon or if you are going there for the holidays here is a list of items that are prohibited in all Disney Parks.

Items with wheels, such as wagons, skateboards, scooters, inlineskates, shoes with built-in wheels, two-wheeled or three-wheeled conveyances, strollers larger than 36" x 52", suitcases, coolers, or backpacks with or without wheels larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18"
high (coolers required for medication may be stored in a locker or atGuest Relations), and any trailer-like object that is pushed or towed by an ECV wheelchair or stroller

In Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park (for the safety of the wildlife), balloons, straws and drink lids are not permitted. Note: they now have biodegradable paper straws.

Be Prepared To Pay More In 2008

Disney has confirmed that Walt Disney World Resort will be implementing an across the property policy change regarding gratuity. This will become effective January 1, 2008 where an 18% gratuity will be added to all transactions regardless of your parties size. As far as I know this only applies to table service locations. But it's better to know this before hand than to be shocked when you get the bill.

Epcot has decided to do a soft opening for Spaceship Earth. So the ride will be open mid December for guests to ride. The official opening isn't scheduled until February 18th, so there could still be changes that will be made from now to then, but you are stil invited to ride to newly renovated ride.

The new ride includes dramatic changes to the ride such as, new costumes, lighting, set decorations as well as new interactive features. There will also be a new soundtrack, new technology and a new story overlay as well as a new narrator, Judi Dench. So if you are visiting Disney World this holiday season see if you can get a sneak peak at the all new Spaceship Earth.

Want To RideThe Polar Express?

Well if you are headed to Orlando this holiday season you need to make arrangements to spend a day at Sea World. They have decided to reprogram the Wild Arctic simulator ride and transform it into a simulates train ride on The Polar Express to "Santa Town". After the ride ends guests will step into a recreation of the North Pole. Of course the polar bears, beluga whales, walruses and other Arctic animals will help make the winter wonderland seem a lot more real. If you want to take a magical ride on The Polar Express you need to do so before January 1, 2008 , because after that the ride will be gone.

Great Gift For A Teenager

When I was at Wal-Mart today I noticed they have $25 gift cards to Universal Studios. This particular one was located on a shelf by the check out. The Best Time To Go To Disney World

I get this question a lot so I like to answer this question several times a year just to make sure everyone gets the answer to this. Disney has actaully come out with a Wonderful Weeks Of Disney list, basically it's a list of weeks when the parks are not as crowded or busy. I will admit I agree with most of the weeks but some are questionable. So if you are interested in planning a trip to Disney World in the up in coming year and want to know good week to go, listen up.

After you have booked your vacation online you should be given the opportunity to choose your message either Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays and fill in your name, number and all that good stuff. Be sure to have this done by December 23 that is the cut off.

Sea World Has Decided To Raise Their Prices

Earlier this summer Disney World and Universal Studios raised their one day adult ticket to $71.00. Sea World decided not to increase their ticket price for a one day ticket. Well looks like they changed their mind. They have raised their prices by $3.00. An adult one day ticket now cost $67.95 and a child one day ticket is $57.95. However, they are offering a special online, if you purchase your tickets at least 7 days in advance you pay $57.95 per ticket. Go to Seaworld.com for details.

Disney Wrapping Paper

I have been getting a lot of searches from Google for Disney wrapping paper, so I thought I would write another post about it. The best place hands down to get Disney wrapping paper is the dollar store. The dollar store near me has Disney Princess', Disney CARS, Winnie the Pooh, and Mickey and Friends wrapping paper for just a $1.00. You can't beat that. So I would suggest heading to your local dollar store and see what kind of selection they have. If you don't have any luck there, head to Wal-Mart their Disney wrapping paper is $2.97 and Target has it for $2.99.

I was out Christmas shopping today and I saw lots of Disney Christmas goodies your children might be interested in. First of all, Target has CARS pencils, little dry easer boards, little mini lunch boxes and stuff like that in their $1.00 bin this week. They also have the whole Disney Princess Pez set for $14.99. They even have cute Tinkerbell, Disney Princess and Enchanted little dress up kits that have nail polish, lip gloss, little tiaras, and other fun dress up stuff for $7.99. Also Bed Bath and Beyond has a Disney Princess Dress up Trunk, that cost $19.99, you maybe able to find it at Target or Wal Mart for cheaper. The trunk includes 4 costumes, headbands, cokers, earrings, rings and necklaces that fits sizes 4-6.

Mickey's Very Merry Chirstmas Party

If you are going to be at Disney World at the end of November or any time in December I would grab a ticket to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. This is a hard ticket event that you have to buy a separate ticket too. But it is well worth it, you are treated to such a magical night that only Disney can deliver. If you have a ticket to the party you can enter the park starting at 4:00pm, once your ticket is swiped you will be issued a wristband.

The party gets started at 7:00pm when the magic snow falls on Main Street and ends at midnight. All through the night you are given the opportunity to experience many many Disney Christmas festivities.

Mickey's Once Upon A Christmas Parade is at 8:15 and 10:30 pm

Holiday Wishes (Fireworks) starts at 9:30pm

Wilderness Lodge Offering Holiday Sleigh Rides

The Wilderness Lodge is offering Sleigh rides again this year. The price will be $35.00. The sleigh can accommodate 4 adults or 2 adults with 3 children ages 9 and under. The sleigh rides will only be offered December 1 thru December 30. The sleigh ride is 25 minutes long and the sleigh departs every 30 minutes starting from 5:30 t0 9:30 p.m.

I would suggest putting this in your agenda if you are staying at the Wilderness Lodge, which is a place I would recommend any family to stay.

Just wanted to let everyone know if your child wants to meet Captain Jack Sparrow during the Pirate and Princess Party, you might want to show up there extra early. Last year the wait time was as long as 2 hours.

Universal Studios Earthquake Attraction Is Getting Replaced

I'm kind of bummed to hear this news, but I understand the need for newer rides because the park is very outdated. The new ride that is replacing Earthquake is Disaster! A Major Motion Picture Ride Starting YOU.

There really hasn't been a lot released about this new attraction except it will include blockbuster celebrity talent, new ride elements, new digital technologies, interactive components and a new story line. They plan on having this done for the Holiday rush.

Disney Pirate And Princess Party Highlights

As promised from yesterday here is a rundown of all the fun activities at the different lands at Magic Kingdom

Adventureland-Captain Jack Sparrow leads a pirate tutorial giving young buccaneers sword fighting tips. Also Jasmine and the Genie will be available for photos and laughs.

Fantasyland- Flounder and Sebastian kick things up with an "Under the Sea" dance party and a meet and greet with Ariel.

Toontown-Court musicians and strolling jugglers hail princess Cinderella, Belle, and Aurora in the princess pavilion. While a pirate Mickey and Donald invite guests to step up and try carnivals games.

Frontierland- Join the singing Riverboat Roulettes as they lure you to the haunted river boat where the ghost of Jolly Roger spins tales amidst magicians and much more.

Tomorrowland- Guests can meet a space pirate and boogie down with Stitch's dance party and enjoy dancing break dancing pirates and much more entertainment.

So if you are going to be at Disney World during these dates I would suggest grabbing some tickets to this exciting fun filled event.
