Downtown Disney Tip

As I have mentioned before if you are going to Walt Disney World you have got to go to Downtown Disney. Here's a little tip for everyone, if you want to go to Mickey's Mart: Everything $10 and under. Be sure to go there first thing in the morning. The store isn't very big and gets extremely crowded. They have a lot of really neat stuff in there for $10 and under so I would definitely stop in there. Also remember if you are staying on The Disney property take advantage of the bus that takes you to Downtown Disney.

Chef Mickey

If you are going to Walt Disney World you have got to make reservations for Chef Mickey. It costs $15-$29 per person, they have a huge buffet breakfast and dinner. The best part is while you are eating about every 10 minutes a Disney character will come by your table so you can take pictures and whatnot. Your children should really get a kick out of that. But be sure to make your reservations before you head to Orlando, to ensure you have a table.

Walt Disney World Goes Green

An unnamed source claims that Disney has vowed seek "green" certification for all of the resorts on the Walt Disney World property by the next Earth Day. However, Disney has not made any comment about that agreement. They have previously stated that they gotten on the "green" bandwagon and six of their hotels already have a "green" certification. It's good to see that the Walt Disney Company is doing their part in trying to save the planet.

Fireworks Tip

In the past few years the fireworks shows at Disney World have become a must see, but there is a huge problem. You have to start waiting at 6:00 in the evening if you want to be able to see anything. So I have a little secret to share with you. My parents just got back from a trip to Disney World and they stayed at Fort Wilderness, which is on the Disney property. Well if you go down to the beach area there at 9:45 you will be treated to a light show and best of all you can see the fireworks that are being shot off at Cinderella's castle. Also your children can entertain themselves by playing in the sand on the beach. And another benefit of watching the fireworks there is everyone clears out of the area in about 5 minutes. I would imagine that every Disney property has a designated area to watch the fireworks. All you have to do is ask someone at the front desk and they will be more than happy to inform you on where to go. Hope that little tip helps out.

Animal Kingdom Tip

If you and your family are planning on visiting Animal Kingdom during your Disney vacation I have a great tip for you. You want to get there before or right when the park opens. All the animals are most active in the morning. In the afternoon and night they usually sleep and because of this you may not be able to see many. Also you will be able to get much better pictures in the morning because more animals are out and about.

Our Favorite Pirate MIght Be Coming To TV

Sources are saying that The Walt Disney Company is considering making "Pirates of The Caribbean" into a TV show. Our favorite pirate Captain Jack Sparrow will once again be the main character. But the TV show will show Jack as a youngster and how he became the famous pirate he is today. This unnamed sources also claims that several A-list celebrities want to lend their voices to the show. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens. I personally think this cartoon might be kind of cute.

Some Disney Tips

I know the number one complaint about Disney World or any theme park for that matter is crowds and waiting in line. Well if you are headed to Disney World during their busy season I have a few trips for you.

1. Be at the park before it opens. This will require you and the family to get up early but it will be worth it. The parks tend not to be as busy when they first open up.

2. Head to the back of the park and ride the more popular rides back there. Guests have a tendency to ride the first ride they come upon. So once most of the guests have ridden all the rides in the front of the park they will be heading to the back where you have already ridden those rides. So your wait time for the rides at the front of the park shouldn't be too bad.

3. Don't abuse the Fastpass. Only get one for the more popular rides when the park starts to get real busy or the wait time is long. You are only aloud a certain amount of Fastpasses a day.

Worst Times To Go To Disney World

Here's a list of the worst times to go to Disney World. During these times it's way too crowded and especially hot.

December 26-31- It's the most crowded and most expensive time of the year.

Mid February through mid April-Always avoid the Holidays such as Easter and President's Day. Spring break usually falls during this time, and prices are usually high

June-early August-It's very busy due to summertime and very very hot.

Disney Rumormill

There is a rumor going around that Disney is planning a sequel to CARS and it could arrive in theaters in the summer of 2009. I wouldn't mind a sequel to this movie I thought it was very cute. In any event if this is true or false I will keep you posted on it.

Just A Reminder

If you are headed to Universal Studios this summer The Back To The Future is closed for good. They are currently working on A Simpson's ride, which is scheduled to open spring of 2008. I'm kind of bummed that they closed this ride but the park is very outdated in their rides so I guess it is time to make room for new ones.

Play A Game While You Wait In Line

I know everyone hates standing in lines at theme parks. Well Disney World might have come up with a great solution to occupy your time while you are standing in line. Epcot has unveiled a new interactive video game that guests can play while waiting in line for Soarin'. Using motion-detection equipment, heat sensors and computer-generated videos shown on big screens, the game allows groups of guests to play with strangers while waiting in line. I think this is a great idea but they have discovered a flaw in this. Guests have gotten so caught up in the game they leave big gaps in the line. Oh well, I still think it's a great idea, now only if they had benches placed everywhere in line so you wouldn't have to stand the whole time.

Tower Of Terror 13th Anniversary

How cool is this on Friday July 13, Tower of Terror will be celebrating it's 13th anniversary. They are holding a special event for passholders and guests only. After the park closes at 10:30 p.m. passholders and a guest will get to discover what lies beyond the 5th dimension of The Tower of Terror. Space is very limited and it requires a reservation. If you are a passholder you can make your reservation at Walt Disney Worlds Website.

Disney MGM Studios News

Just wanted to fill everyone in one some news at MGM Studios. The Rock N Roller Coaster will be closed Labor day to early October 2007 for some refurbishments. Also the fastpass will not be available for Rock N Roller Coater from July 12-17 for software upgrade. The Tower of Terror's fastpass will be out of order July 23-25 for software upgrades as well. I know this stinks if you are headed there during these times because these are 2 very popular rides. The only advice I have for you is to ride those rides when you first get there or take advantage of the extra magic hours.

Changes At Epoct

As I reported a week or so ago the Mickey Mouse arm and wand are coming down from Epcot's ball, deconstruction will start Monday. Also the Spaceship Earth ride will temporarily be closing starting on Monday and won't reopen until November. Epcot will be celebrating it's 25th anniversary this fall, no word yet on if anything special is going to be added anywhere.

Disney Dinning Tip

Here's a great tip to everyone that wants to eat at some of the Disney restaurants. Call ahead to make reservations before you head down to Orlando to ensure that you will get a table. Also be sure you have your conformation number with you. If you want to make reservations for Cinderella's Royal Table Character Dining you might want to do it months maybe a year in advance, it is the toughest reservation to get.
