![]() In case you didn't know the planet Pluto is not considered one of the 9 planets in our solar system. Pluto was demoted to a"dwarf planet." The Seven Dwarf's issued a statement regarding this, they said, "Although we think it's Dopey that Pluto has been downgraded to a dwarf planet, which has made some people grumpy and others just Sleepy, we are not Bashful in saying we would be Happy if Disney's Pluto would join us as the 8th dwarf. We think this is just what the Doc ordered and is nothing to Sneeze at." I'm sure Mickey still considers his faithful companion top dog still or planet in this case. ![]() I've often thought it would be so neat to get married at Disney World, but that fairy tale comes with a big price tag. If you want to get married during the week it starts at $7,500. If you want a weekend ceremony it starts at $10,000 and goes way up from there. You do however get a four night stay at a Disney Resort for the bride and groom and theme park tickets as well. The bride even as the option to arrive at the ceremony in Cinderella's carriage but of course that costs extra, you can even have Mickey and Minnie there for an additional price too. Since most of us cannot afford a Disney Wedding we go about things in our own way. But have you every thought about having the rehearsal dinner in your own backyard? If you are going to be having a super formal wedding in a church and the whole nine yards, why not ease everyone's stress level and have a Bar B Q in the backyard. You can decorate tables with wildflowers and homemade jam. And for party favors handout "Kiss the Chef" aprons or something even more creative had Ketchup bottle personalized. Or if you are heading to Hawaii or some other tropical place for your honeymoon, have a theme rehearsal dinner. Turn the backyard into your own private paradise. Hang up hammock, get some long surf boards and use them as buffet tables. make sure you have plenty of mixed drinks for everyone and a must is having Jimmy Buffet music playing in the back ground. And be sure to pick up some wedding cameras. They make really cute disposable ones that say our wedding or some other cute phrase like that at the bottom, so when the pictures are printed the phrase is at the bottom of your picture. If you buy a Sea World one day ticket online it's less than $50. If you buy a Universal Studios one day ticket online it's $63. ![]() I'm sure you might have seen the commercials on TV for Disney Mobile but just in case you haven't, this is what it's all about. Disney came out with a cell phone service called Disney Mobile. What is so neat about is they offer features like family monitor, where you can check the usage, set voice messages, text, set allowance and you will be alerted when the allowance has been met. Family locator is where parents can see where their children are without calling. Family alert where you can send the same message to all family members at the same time. Call control, lets you set a time each day when your child's phone maybe used. There is a Disney zone where you can play games, listen to Radio Disney. ![]() Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom opened up in October of 1971. Back then admission was $4.95. But you had to pay to ride every attraction kind of like how you do at a fair. Each attraction cost anywhere from 25 cents to 50 cents. You could buy these ticket books ranging from A to E with E being the best rides like, Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean and The Haunted Mansion. In 1981 after Epcot opined they did away with these ticket books and started the all day admission ticket. I bet it was a lot less expensive to go to Disney World like that, but then again back in the 70's the cost of living was a lot lower. so that $4.95 could be like the $67 we pay now. ![]() Some restaurants that your children will be interest in to dine with the characters are, Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom. Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Eeyor and Tigger are your hosts at this restaurant. They have a good sized buffet to choose from. Secondly, 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian Resort. Mary Poppins, Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Alice in Wonderland, and the Mad Hatter will join you for breakfast. In the evening the characters from Cinderella join you. The Grand Floridian just might be the best buffet at Disney. Thirdly Akershus Royal Banquet Hall at Epcot. The Disney Princess' Belle, Ariel, Cinderella, Jasmine, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Mary Poppins will join you here. If you love wine the best restaurants to go to are Citricos at The Grand Floridian Resort. They even won a Wine Spectator Restaurant Award. And on the menu it recommends a wine with every meal. Jiko at The Animal Kingdom it too has a Wine Spectator Award. Here you can order the best wines from South Africa. Again Victoria and Albert's is a great for wine as well. They have over 700 selections of wines. If you are looking for a restaurant that has a hip scene try Todd English's Bluezoo. It's located at The Disney World Dolphin. The restaurant is decorated as a underwater fasntasyland. A new restaurant that just came up at Downtown Disney called Raglan Road is a good one to check out. ![]() There are so many restaurants to choose from at Walt Disney World it's ridiculous. Well here is a run down of some of the restaurants so maybe this will help in your discussion making. The best restaurants for families would be the Coral Reef Restaurant at Epcot. Your kids will feel like they are the Little Mermaid at this place. 50's Prime Time Cafe at MGM Studios is another good family choice You feel like you have actually stepped into the 50's eating at this restaurant. The whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney's Wilderness Lodge is another good one for families. This restaurant makes you feel like a cowby and I've been told not to ask for ketchup unless you want a big scene to be made. The next restaurants are ones that you might want to make a reservation for. California Grill at the Contemporary Resort, they have sushi, New American cuisine and great desserts, it's also a great place to see the fireworks show Wishes. Cinderella's Royal Table is another one to call ahead for. I've read that you might want to call ahead at least 180 days before you plan on eating there. This restaurant is very popular with the little ones. Victoria and Albert's at the Grand Floridian Resort. is another one that you should get reservations for. This is a very fancy place and be prepared to have your socks knocked off. If you are traveling with vegetarians Victoria and Albert's is a great place for them as well. They have a seven course vegetarian menus. Boma at Animal Kingdom is another great place they have several items on the menu geared towards vegetarians and picky eaters. Stay tuned for the second installment. The picture above is of The 50's Prime Time Cafe Tags: Disney World, Epcot, MGM Studios, best, places, to, eat, at, Disney Powered by Qumana |
![]() Unfortunately, Walt Disney World has raised their prices for the second time this year. An adult ticket will now cost $67.00. I think this might have something to do with the money problem they are having. The are set to lay off at least 650, and even with the success of Pirates of the Caribbean:Dead Man's Chest Disney's stock has gone down some. So maybe this is their way of making money. ![]() Some people maybe a little bit worried about going to Walt Disney World during the hurricane season because they don't want to loose money that have spent to go to Disney World. This is pretty easy. If you are going to Disney World this summer or fall I would wear something very cool and that breathes easy like cotton. Be sure to wear shorts that feel comfortable and that you don't feel confined. Also bring a pair of tennis shoes. I see so many people wearing flip flops and sandals when they are at Disney World I don't know how they can stand it. I always wear tennis shoes and my feet are killing me at the end of the day. I would also suggest to stay away from dark colors, wear a light color so the sun isn't attracted to you as much. And if you have small children make sure they wear a hat. to shade them from the sun. And of course before go be sure to apply some sunscreen to your body and bring some extra with you to reapply later in the day. Now we pause for a commercial break. I know it's a little bit earlier to start thinking about Christmas Gifts , but it's never too earlier to start. GourmetGiftBaskets.com has some really neat baskets to choose from. Weather it be for housewarming, an office party, or just because, they have baskets for every occasion. They will even work with you to create a custom basket if they do not have what you want on their site. Tags: what, to, wear to, Disney World Powered by Qumana |
![]() Disney is trying to make Tinkerbell the thing for little girls this back to school season. If you walk into the Disney Store you may notice that there are a lot more Tinberbell items than anyone else. I don't think Disney will have a problem selling this merchandise since Tinkerbell appeals so much to little girls. I'm not a little girl and she is my favorite Disney Character.
